We are a not-for-profit organization born out of an eclectic method of providing resources to the community. ‘Eclectic’ means selecting the best of various styles. The Greek origin ἐκλεκτικός (eklektikos) literally means “choosing the best”. Eclecticism draws upon a variety of thoughts, ideas, theories and styles to gain a broad Insight into a subject, holding no particular set of assumptions or fealty to the explanations of a single paradigm. We at the Eclectic Foundation believe that to solve the diverse problems of society, a deep and multifaceted understanding of the situation and its solutions are needed. To this end, we seek to do three things.

Seek pathways and feasible solutions to create a conducive atmosphere for social entrepreneurship on a national scale, especially for those in rural areas, low incomes and low literacy. We do this based on the principles of feasibility, sustainability and social impact.

Raise and promote literature, art, critical thought and awareness through media, workshops and collaboration with other entities having similar goals.

Conduct research and recommend public policy regarding the above in the context of politics, economy and society and their myriad interactions which especially affect the most vulnerable.
